Customer Reviews

Due to visiting my Uncle in the Wayne county hospital, we needed to eat lunch. Not being familiar with restaurants around Jesup, I Googled and found the top 10 restaurants for this year. Number one was called Jones Kitchen. From reviews I read, it looked to be very nice with good home cooking so we decided to give it a try... Wow we were not disappointed. We got there 45 minutes before they close and wondered if we would be rushed. From the minute we stepped in the door and spoke to the owner Heather (see pic), we were treated like regular customers even though it was our first time! We made our way through the buffet line and had a hard time deciding what to try because everything looked so good. After we finished our first plate, we both went back for seconds. There was nothing that we tried that disappointed us. We interacted with two or three people working on the floor and they were all very nice and accommodating. The pricing (around $14-15 each) was good too for a buffet of this quality. At the end of the meal, the owner came over and asked us what we thought (she knew it was our first time and that we learned about them on Google). I told her we really enjoyed it and would like to come again soon. She mentioned she was a new owner and was excited about this new opportunity for her. She also mentioned that she was the cook and we congratulated her on her culinary skills. If you're looking for some down home cooking, you will not be disappointed with this restaurant... We highly recommend it and tell them Sammy sent ya!

The restaurant can be a little hard to spot since it's on a busy road with a lot of other places nearby. It's a small white building with a limited parking lot, but it's a great spot for small groups. Jones Kitchen has a southern, casual feeling and serves a country-style buffet. The price is about $15-$20 per person, which I think is pretty cheap for what you get. I'm a very picky eater, so I like that I can choose exactly what I want from the buffet. The restaurant isn't fancy at all, it's probably one of the most country, down-to-earth places you could eat at. You'll see a lot of local guys stopping by on their lunch breaks because it's quick and easy. The staff are super friendly and make you feel like family right away. At the buffet I got chicken, mac and cheese, corn, and sausage. The food was really good but I will say the mac and cheese was very disappointing. It didn't have a lot of flavor and no seasoning but other than that it was really good and fresh. Their sweet tea is honestly the best I've ever had. I wouldn't mind going back but it wouldn't be my first choice. They're only open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. Even though the space feels a bit cramped, I really enjoyed the food. Overall, I'd definitely go back especially for that sweet tea!

One of the best home style cooking buffet that I've ever had, absolutely everything on their buffet that I tried was very good, they had so many selections there was no way I could try them all. If you like home style cooking with several entrees seasoned just right with plenty of vegetables and dessert choices this is your kind of place.

I took a group of coworkers here for lunch, great value for the food! I was worried about the size of our group, 12 in all, but the staff greeted us friendly and said we could all sit in the back room so that we didn't have to split up amongst the tables. The food is great southern cooking and you absolutely can't beat the price. This will be a go-to for lunches after work meetings in Jesup.
